NATURE BIOTECHNOLOGY HIGHLIGHTS RYBODYN AT THE FRONTIER OF DARK PROTEOME DRUG DISCOVERY
Nature Biotechnology featured RyboDyn in its September 2026 article, “Startups mine ‘dark proteome’ for new drug targets,” examining the growing effort to uncover previously inaccessible proteins and translate them into new therapeutic opportunities.
The article highlights RyboDyn’s work across more than 2,000 patient samples, including a lead cryptic target found in approximately 43% of HER2-negative breast tumors and lung cancer programs advancing with support from a $1.3 million Department of Defense award.
RyboDyn CEO and Co-founder Imad Ajjawi also discusses the broader opportunity to unlock new biology from the dark proteome and expand the universe of targets available for drug discovery.
